“What is that?” Kurt said alarmed by what he was seeing.

“A crying baby.” Blaine said still trying to calm the crying tot.

“I can see that.” Kurt retaliated as the baby cried harder. “I think you have an ear problem, Blaine. I asked for coffee, not a baby.”

“Ha. Ha. Your coffee’s right over there.” Blaine pointed at the counter. “I can’t get her to stop crying.”

“I can see that too. Where did it come from anyway?”

“I wish I knew.” Blaine pouted. “Whoever left her here, left this.” He said as he handed the note to Kurt.

Kurt read the smudged note and decided against questioning the cause. If it was throw-up, Kurt didn’t want to know. “Oh my god, Blaine! Did you knock someone up?” Kurt said only half-kidding.

“What? No!” Blaine said defensively. Between the two of them, Blaine was the one who kissed a girl in the past and actually liked it. Kurt had a point. “Don’t you think the note would’ve said something if I fathered this crying creature?”

“How would I know? It’s smudged!” Kurt said as his voice was getting louder too.

The baby stopped crying at stared at Kurt. He was surprised by the little one’s abrupt silence. The baby just stared at him until she went back to blowing spit bubbles.

“That is oddly disgusting and adorable at the same time.” Kurt said as he watched the baby in Blaine’s arms.

“You’re a cute little thing, aren’t you?” Blaine cooed to the baby. Kurt couldn’t help the corners of his mouth from tugging a small smile. He let himself feel the adorableness in the room until his brain forced their reality upon him. He rushed right to their dark green wall phone.

“What are you doing?” Blaine said as he returned the baby to the carriage.

“Calling child services. We can’t take care of a baby, Blaine. Especially some stranger’s baby – that is if you’re not the baby-daddy” Kurt said as if it is the most obvious thing in the world. “Hello, child services?”

Blaine just rolled his eyes. He can’t be the baby-daddy. He just can’t be.

Blaine listened on as Kurt talked to the operator and was put on hold for a few times. He eyed the bulky travel bag and peeked inside it. It contained diapers, baby formula, bottles; anything and everything that a baby should have or so Blaine thought. Who in their right mind would leave a baby to them? Blaine knew deep down that he didn’t get anyone pregnant. And even if he did, why did the baby’s mom pick this moment to make him aware that he’s the daddy? Blaine’s confusion halted when he heard a rumbling noise.

He looked at his stomach but quickly realized that he wasn’t hungry. He smacked his head and realized “Duh, it must be the baby.”

He searched inside the travel bag and found a bottle already containing milk. Thank God the person who left the baby at least had the decency to prepare food for the little one. Blaine tried to take the bottle cap off but it was tightly wound. He tried biting it off and banging it on the corner of the table but it simply wouldn’t budge. The rumbling noise came up again.

“Just wait one more second, baby.” Blaine said as he tried to open the bottle. He can lift twice his size so why can’t he open a damn baby bottle? He struggled for a few more seconds until he had managed to open it with as much strength as he could possibly give. He was so busy that he didn’t notice Kurt walking up behind him. It all happened so fast. The force he used on the bottle drove his elbow backwards smacking Kurt right on the nose.

“OWW!” was all Kurt could muster before he hit the floor.

“Yes! I got it! . . . . . Kurt!” Blaine said as his victory cry turned into alarm. He crouched down to see the damage he had done on his boyfriend’s face. He could hear the baby laugh from her carriage.

“Kurt! I’m so sorry. Are you alright?” Blaine asked staring at Kurt while he clutched his nose.

“Do I look like I’m alright to you?” Kurt snapped, his eyes sharp on Blaine’s face.

“I’m sorry, babe.” Blaine said regretfully as he helped Kurt stand up. “Sit on the couch and I’ll get the first aid kit.”

“I’m glad you find this amusing.” Kurt snarled at the baby who was apparently enjoying the show.

Blaine gave the bottle to the baby so she would stop laughing at Kurt. Though he must admit, it was kind of funny. But, he can’t tell Kurt that. It might just rub him the wrong way.

“Tilt your head back a little.” Blaine said holding the tissue on Kurt’s nose. “It’s just a little bleeding. Nothing major. You still look beautiful.” Blaine assured Kurt as he kissed Kurt’s forehead. “What did Child Services say?”

“They said we should drop the baby off to their office tomorrow. They’re only open until noon so we have to come in the morning. Scratch that, YOU have to come in the morning.” Kurt explained.

Blaine opened his mouth to complain but quickly closed it when he realized that Kurt had school tomorrow.

“Okay. Now wait ‘til your nose stops bleeding and get your pretty little butt back to our room and finish those sketches.” Blaine encouraged when he remembered that Kurt had a deadline. “And Kurt, I really am sorry.” Blaine had the puppy dog eyes on, knowing that Kurt would give him a hard time without it.

“Yeah, I forgive you.” Kurt said “Now, turn off those damn puppy eyes. I can’t stand them.”

“Yes, you can. You love my puppy eyes.” Blaine said as he leaned forward and kissed Kurt.

This wasn’t exactly how he imagined spending his Friday night. But, with Blaine by his side, he couldn’t care less. Well, except for the fact that they have a baby in their hands. That part was still bugging him. He didn’t want to be a heartless bitch but the baby just isn’t right for them. This was all messed up. Who would have the heart to leave a defenseless baby with strangers? He looked up at Blaine thinking that all of this would go back to normal tomorrow. It’s just for one night. He should just focus on his sketches for the time being. Sooner or later, this would just be some random memory of how they became daddies for one night.

End Notes: TBCSome of the reviews said that this story reminded them of Three Men and a Baby. I haven't seen it yet. I'll watch it sometime next week and maybe I'll get some ideas there. This might just be a crossover.

one of my favorite movies–three men and a baby! watch it and i guarantee that you will see the parallels. heck, maybe the movie might inspire something for this story. i'm guessing that in the space of one short night, the baby will have kurt and blaine wrapped around her little finger :)
