Kurt smiles easily at Blaine comment, shrugging off the thank you easily and pulling the hoodie around his body a little more. He hated zipping them up but then again it wasn’t exactly boiling hot outside either. “It was no problem, honest. I told you I’d get you tickets and I was lucky enough to know the brother of guy who’s playing Boq and one of the munchkin extras so I just had to work only a little bit of magic to get them.” Okay, so maybe it was a little bit more difficult than that, because really the brother had nothing to do with it since he pretty much hated Kurt’s guts, which was yet another exceedingly long story which was unnecessary and didn’t actually require being told. But he’d ended up with the tickets anyway with full intentions of giving them both to Blaine to do with as he wished, although part of him really did just want to be selfish and keep one for himself so he had to go with Blaine. “You really don’t have to do anything for them, they’re a gift. I don’t expect anything in return other than you enjoying the show.” Kurt pursed his lips a little in thought. Really his schedule was packed full to the brim for the next few weeks, but waiting that long seemed obscenely ridiculous and he’d rather let his curiosity with Blaine’s want to thank him happen than filling up glasses with beer, he was due a day off anyway and one or two nights away from the bar which were scheduled couldn’t actually hurt. “I’m free Saturday and Sunday, not that busy anyway so whenever you want to thank me, I’ll be free then.” Kurt raised his free hand to his hair and shook his head sharply with a frown. “It’s flat and horrible, you don’t want to see it without. Even I don’t see it though, it’s styled as soon as humanly possible.” He’d always been at a complete battle with his hair striving to keep it completely perfect ever second of every day, liking that control over it and comfort of knowing it was okay. “Unfortunately, some of us don’t actually have lovely dark curls under all that product.” The actor turned his head to look at Blaine, eyes running over the fluffy curls with a small grin. “It looks nice untamed.” Kurt blushed violently as Blaine lifted their hands and kissed his fingertips, eyes widening a little in shock before he cleared his throat to clear the blush - thank god for the fact it was dark and he could blame it on the lighting around them - and create an air of nonchalance. “I knew you’d be a secret musical lover and honestly, if music fails you - which it won’t - you could definitely go for being Don.”

Kurt watched Blaine curiously, his eyebrow raised slightly in questioning, waiting patiently for the question although really he would’ve enjoyed waiting forever. He winced lightly at the words, looking away sharply and taking interest in the opposite direction to the one Blaine was in, breathing slowly before sighing and turning back. “Two in high school, one here. Then I just gave up and stopped letting myself feel anything for anyone.” Kurt tightened his grip on Blaine’s hand, refusing to actually let go and feeling the need to anchor himself to the moment rather than drift off down memory lane again. “It’s my own fault really.” Kurt shrugged a little, letting his tongue trail over his lips to gain some time to think a little more clearly over everything. ”My dad always said it’s because I see the good in people, can’t possibly see how they can do anything wrong so I expect everything to just be one big happily ever after or like a Broadway romance. I expect that if I say that I like someone, they’ll like me too. I think you can probably tell I get myself far too emotionally invested in things as they are, and I used to be worse; make things up in my head and then be absolutely crushed at the end and have to pick myself back up.” The actor hummed a little, running his fingers through his hair. “Sometimes you just can’t pick yourself back up after it happens that many times. And it’s not like it was a gentle let down - I could handle that… But like I said, I like to think everyone is just a whole lot of good and that’s all I see.” Kurt looked back in the direction of the dorms, rubbing his lips together to combat the chill air and shook his head slightly. “It’s not due for a while, but if you want to then sure.”

Blaine smiled softly, not really understanding a word Kurt said, but he somehow found it amusing nonetheless, “To be honest I have no idea what you’re talking about, but I am still thankful anyways that you got them, even if you never intended to be going with me…though I’m glad you said yes.” Originally Blaine had expected a kind decline when he asked Kurt if he’d go with him, though he had been hoping he’d say yes. But just the way that night at the bar went, with emotions going back and forth, Kurt avoiding him, he himself getting frustrated and initially not being in all that great of a mood as it was, giving up and simply leaving because he just didn’t have the patience or emotional stability to deal with yet another issue…it was hard to think of the situation having a positive upside until the actor had agreed that he’d go with him. At first he had no idea why Kurt had said yes, especially since he was purposely trying to stay away from him, but eventually he just chalked up the man’s agreement to his love for the musical itself, meaning he’d deal with Blaine being there rather then actually wanting to go with him…who knew he was just trying to avoid yet another heartbreak? He couldn’t blame him though, not in the slightest. He had a decent idea of what it felt like to have to deal with some pretty bad heartbreak, even if it wasn’t in the same way. “Oh I’m sure I’ll enjoy the show, but you mentioned dinner afterwards…and I want to add my own little special thing to the twist. You can call it a makeshift date if you’d like,” he smiled lightly as he slipped his free hand back into his pocket. “Okay, perfect…it’ll only take one night, a couple hours, nothing too long or complicated”. Blaine shrugged his shoulders because of the dry cold air, his nose starting to turn a little red and burn from the wind chill. He chuckled lightly, “I’m sure your hair looks just fine without anything in it. Plus, my curls may look fun but they are a complete and utter nuisance…thank you though.” Glancing over at Kurt he could have sworn he was blushing…deeply at that, and Blaine automatically smiled guiltily, “Sorry…a little too much? I tend to do that.” He wrinkled his nose, knowing that it was probably too cold for the pair of them to be out wandering in pajamas. “You really think so?” he laughed lightly, “I don’t know about that…I may know a little tap but I’d have no chance keeping up with Gene.”

Blaine glanced over at Kurt, noticing his facial expression and immediately felt bad for asking about it. In fact, he was on the verge of dispelling the question, saying that he could just ask some other time when they hadn’t already been through some insane emotional rollercoaster…but the actor beat him to it, and he suddenly felt even worse for asking such a painstaking question. Blaine lowered his eyes, not really sure what to say in return. But when he felt Kurt’s hand tighten around his he squeezed his fingers back and tilted his head to look at him, knowing he had to say something, even if he wasn’t sure of what it should be, “You’re really brave Kurt…having that kind of trust in someone you don’t know and thinking so positively, not to mention being as persistent as you were. I could never do that, I’m not nearly as courageous as you, nor could I ever really pick myself up after something like that once, let alone three times?” Blaine shook his head, thoroughly impressed as he glanced over at the other man, “You are simply something else”. The musician turned back towards the path, slowing down until he came to a complete stop, “Yes, we should probably head back, it’s a little too cold, don’t you think?” Blaine turned to Kurt, smiling a little before letting his hand slip away from his and started walking the other way towards the dorms. He rubbed his nose with the back of his knuckles, trying to warm it back up so it wasn’t stinging as badly, and found the actor’s hand once more, easily slipping his fingers between the other’s. The walk back wasn’t too horrible, though they picked the perfect time to head to the dorms since it seemed as though it was about to rain again. When they reached the familiar building Blaine held the door open, following in after him and climbing the set of stairs to Kurt’s floor until they approached his room. The musician smiled a little, letting his hand slip away once more from the actor’s while he leaned his shoulder against the wall nearby and rubbed the back of his neck with gentle fingers. “So…” he hesitated, glancing down at his shoes while he thought of something to say, especially since his mind was wandering elsewhere, “…I guess I’ll see you soon?” he met Kurt’s gaze, easily getting lost at the seemingly constant changing blue-green eyes that somehow managed to have a faded hint of grey mixed in from time-to time…”You have really gorgeous eyes,” he said, mentally hitting himself as soon as he did. Clearing his throat a little he lost the connection between their gazes and smiled guiltily, “Sorry…I’m doing it again aren’t I?”
