Prologue:

Kurt had no idea why Blaine was freaking out.

New Directions had simply set out to explore the city of Chicago. A woman had stopped them and asked for directions on how to get to the train, and she hadn't asked just anyone.

She'd asked Blaine...and the weird thing was, the moment Blaine had seen her, he'd gone rigid and white in the face.

Kurt let Rachel attempt to assist the woman as he led Blaine back into the hotel and up to the girls' room.

Blaine had grabbed his phone and was now frantically dialling a number as he chanted 'pick up -- please God, pick up Coop...' under his breath.

Why was his boyfriend calling his older brother?

"Coop? I -- I'm sorry to bug you, but it's an emergency." he said rapidly when Cooper had answered his cell. "No -- physically I'm fine, but -- okay you know we're in Chicago for Nationals, right?" a pause, then. "We were going to explore the city, and this lady came up wanting to know how to get to the train. She -- Coo, it was her." Silence. "No -- Cooper you don't need to fly out -- I --"

Kurt frowned. The woman was that bad of news that Cooper was willing to fly straight from L.A. to Chicago on a whim? Who was she?

"I'm fine, I just -- she really scared me. How did she even know I'm here?! Isn't she supposed to be in Sacramento, and heavily medicated?!" Blaine ran a hand through his curls, tears in his eyes. "Oh. I -- No, Kurt's with me, we're in one of the hotel rooms." he sighed. "Okay I will. Love you too. 'Bye." He sat down on one bed and buried his face in his hands.

"Blaine?" said Kurt cautiously, sitting down next to the dark haired teen. "What's wrong? Why'd you call Cooper about that woman?"

Blaine looked up at him hesitantly, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"Because she's our mother." he said hoarsely.

I'm glad, and thank you for the review! I promise not to leave everyone waiting too long. :)

Well, I'm already intrigued. Please keep going, and don't leave us waiting too long!!!I'm excited! :)

Oh trust me, she's done a lot -- but it's not so much what she did to him as it is what she did to Cooper...and I totally agree, it is a very angsty theme. Thank you for the review!

This is great, I think abuse is one of the angstiest themes of all. You have me wanting to find out what is the story behind Blaine's terrified reaction, and just what this horrible woman has done to her son that has him traumatized years on. Thanks!

Wow I'm glad you like it! And yes, much of the abuse was directed at Cooper. As Blaine says in Chapter 1, Cooper made sure she did nothing to him -- even if it meant the abuse became worse when that happened. So though she may have tried occasionally, big brother came to the rescue regardless of what it meant for him. Thanks for the review!

Cannot. Get. Enough. This story has me hooked so bad! I cannot wait for more! Very good job and one of the best Anderbro stories I've read so far! So, all of the abuse was basically thrown at Cooper? She never did anything to Blaine?

clearly, blaine and cooper's mother caused a lot of trauma for them–especially blaine. i guessing that she either did nothing to stop their father from abusing one or both of them -or- that one or both of them were abused by her hand. it'll be interesting to see which one it is. *gives blaine a hug*

this is so freaking good can not wait for the next chapter !

you can't leave it there!!!!! love this story

I'm crying. Literally. I told myself to stop reading, but I couldn't.
