Honestly, Kurt kind of despised sitting this close to anyone, he hated contact and felt incredibly uncomfortable in situations where his personal space was invaded completely. But right now he felt content to sit there, initiate occasional contact between their shoulders and feeling the heat radiate from Blaine as he pulled his hoodie coser around him. It wasn’t that he was cold at all, he was just enjoying the warmth and trying to savor it. “It won’t, trust me.” Kurt gave a light sigh, glancing at Blaine with a slightly forced soft smile. It was hard admitting his knowledge of the situation, because of course there were going to be questions asked but if that’s what it took to unload everything from Blaine’s shoulders then he’d deal with reliving it. He worried his bottom lip between his teeth for a moment before nodding with a slight approval at the small break through. “You’ll know when it’s the right time.” Kurt replied gently, glancing back at the musician through his eyelashes softly.

He wasn’t exactly one to talk, having held things back for years before they got too much for him once more started piling on him and he honestly didn’t want to see Blaine go through that struggle of trying desperately to deal with everyone else’s problems when his own needed to be confronted and helped through by someone he trusted. As much as Kurt wanted to respond back, he simply nodded his head, removing his fingers from playing with the keys as he listened to Blaine’s playing, watching the gentle and caring way he executed each note through his explanation. Kurt could feel the soft smile on his face as he listened and watched Blaine, nodding gently. “Okay… I’m listening”.

Blaine gave him a half-smile before nodding in return, “Okay”. He moved back to face the piano, though another thought occurred to him as he set his hands back on the piano. “And just so you know…” he hesitated once more, glancing over at him for a brief moment as he felt another wave of nervousness pass over him, “…I’m sorry if this is a bit much…I’ve always been one to be a little more forward then most when it came to this kind of stuff. So…” he gave him another timid smile, “…yeah.” Blaine mentally shook his head and decided to just go for it, knowing that this particular song might be a little overwhelming for anyone…but for Kurt he didn’t know what kind of reaction he’d get. So he just took a deep breath and picked up right where he left off, delving straight into the lyrics a moment later as he closed his eyes.

I’ve been alone
Surrounded by darkness
I’ve seen how heartless
The world can be.
I’ve seen you crying
You felt like it’s hopeless
I’ll always do my best
To make you see.
"

Blaine reopened his eyes, licking his lips a little as he played a short piano riff and glanced at Kurt from the corner of his eye, trying to pick up on his expression or mood.

"Baby, you’re not alone
Cause you’re here with me
And nothing’s ever gonna bring us down
Cause nothing can keep me from lovin’ you
And you know it’s true
It don’t matter what’ll come to be
Our love is all we need to make it through.
Now I know it ain’t easy
But it ain’t hard trying
Every time I see you smiling
And I feel you so close to me
And you tell me.
I still have trouble
I trip and stumble
Trying to make sense of things sometimes
I look for reasons
But I don’t need ‘em
All I need is to look in your eyes
And I realize.
Baby I’m not alone
Cause you’re here with me
And nothing’s ever gonna take us down
Cause nothing can keep me from lovin’ you
And you know it’s true
It don’t matter what’ll come to be
Our love is all we need to make it through, ooh.

Blaine ended the last note softly, taking a moment to simply hold his fingers over the keys. He felt his cheeks warm the slightest bit as he pulled his hands into his lap and folded them to keep them from shaking. He was a little nervous to turn to see Kurt’s reaction, but nonetheless he looked over at him anyways, holding his breath somewhat as he watched for his reaction and expression.
