After a movie marathon (that normally consisted of Cooper and Blaine bantering over which guy or girl was hottest) that lacked its usual enjoyment, Blaine's phone rang, and he put it on speaker when he saw that it was Kurt.
"Kurt?"
Hi Blaine. his boyfriend sounded breathless, excited, but concerned also. You alright?
He felt Cooper hold him just a little tighter, saw the way he pursed his lips.
"Not really...but a little better I guess. What happened? You didn't call with how we placed."
I know Blaine -- I'm sorry. Things got a little nuts after you left with Cooper. Your mom -- wait, am I on speaker?
Blaine glanced at Cooper, who nodded.
"Kurt, it's Coop. Yeah, you're on speaker. What happened?" he said.
Do you want the good news first?
"Does it involve our mom at all?"
Nope! Blaine -- we got first place. We're the 2012 national champions!
"I -- wow, congrats!" exclaimed Cooper, hugging Blaine tightly and nearly knocking the phone out of his hand.
"Kurt I -- Wow really?" Blaine's response came out breathless, stunned. "That's awesome!"
I know! Crap -- Rachel I'll help you in a minute. Your wardrobe crisis can wait fifteen minutes -- it certainly waited four years before you decided to upgrade it anyway. Sorry, Rachel's freaking out and thinking she should go back and seek Tibideaux out again, wants the perfect 'stalking outfit' and therefore I must deter her before she gets herself arrested.
"Wait, what about the bad news?" said Blaine, frowning. His free hand played anxiously with a stray thread on the navy comforter.
O-Oh...Kurt hesitated, and Blaine felt another panic attack coming on. Your mom...she sort of had a meltdown when Cooper took you out of there. She tried to attack Mr. Schue, but then Beiste came at her, and she ran. No one knows where she went.
The brothers shared a long look at that.
"Did your teacher report her?" Cooper asked finally.
No...he was distracted when they called us up to say who placed, and said if she showed up again before we leave tomorrow, he'll call the police.
Cooper fought the urge to start swearing, and instead exhaled, and ran a hand through his hair.
"Okay I -- I don't even know, just -- thanks for updating us, Kurt." he said. "I really appreciate it."
Not a problem...and I've got to go, but I need to ask something.Cooper looked at Blaine for a moment, confused.
"Okay, what?"
Would you be offended if I switched my ringtone from your jingle to say...something more me and Blaine?
"Highly," he shot his brother an amused look. Blaine said nothing, blushing slightly. "Do tell -- is it something that would make me gag and then vomit over cuteness?"
Not telling. You can figure it out for yourself...and don't bother asking Blaine. Speaking of Blaine, may I speak to my boyfriend off of speaker really fast?
Blaine swiped his phone out of Cooper's hand and hit the speaker button.
"Kurt, it's me -- you're off speaker. What's up?" he climbed off the bed and headed into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.
Cooper rolled his eyes and grabbed his own phone, intending to call in an order for a pizza delivery. They'd eaten nothing but junk (okay so Blaine had barely touched the ice cream or the popcorn), and they really needed something slightly better and more filling.
"Hey, I'm gonna order a pizza." he said when Blaine finally left the bathroom, tossing his phone from hand to hand. "You okay?"
"Mm. Fine." Blaine answered, flopping down on the bed and letting his head come to rest in Cooper's lap.
"What did Kurt have to say?"
"Things."
"About?"
"Do you really want to know?"
"If they don't concern anything of a sexual nature, then yeah pretty much."
"Coop."
He laughed and playfully ruffled Blaine's hair.
"Come on baby brother, you know I'm joking. Seriously -- what did he say?"
Blaine sighed and sat up, biting his lower lip aprehensively.
"He just said not to worry about it...that she's not worth getting worked up about -- even though it's totally justified...and to call him if I need him, because he can sneak out if need be."
Silence.
"Well...he's right." said Cooper finally. "We could get him to sneak out. I could go pick him up if you want me to."
Blaine nodded.
"I'll try, Coop. I really will." and then he smiled slyly. Before Cooper knew what had happened, the teen had thrown himself at his brother, tackling him and throwing him backwards on the mattress. "and we are not calling him. At least, not unless you want to see us in a position similar to this."
"You little bastard," Cooper tried to stop laughing. "When was the last time we did this?"
"Wrestle until you agreed to give up the TV remote? I think I was thirteen." Blaine reached over, gripping the older man's wrists and pinning them down. "Now give it to me --"
He thought he had the upper hand -- until Cooper managed to break his hold and smack him with a pillow.
"Oh hell no!" Blaine scrambled backward and grabbed one of the pillows on the other bed, swinging it and catching Cooper in the stomach, just as the other Anderson sibling smacked him in the head with his own. "You asshole!"
"I surrender!" Cooper fell back on the bed laughing and Blaine immediately got back on Cooper's bed (after grabbing the remote and sticking it in the pocket of his sweats) and curled up between his brother's legs, pressing his cheek against the soft white cotton of his t-shirt. "God I missed that."
"Me too." a pause. "Pizza?"
"I'll make the call. Red peppers and onions okay?"
"If you want to wake up with your head shoved down the toilet because of how bad your breath is going to be in the morning, yeah sure."
"Hey!"
"On half is fine." Blaine felt Cooper's hand slide gently over his back in slow circles. "Coo?"
"What?"
"Thanks for tonight."
He didn't have to see his brother's face. He knew Cooper was either tearing up or grinning so hard it hurt...or maybe he was doing both.
"No problem baby brother."
Awwwhhh :)
Aww, this fic is such a gift! I'm getting these cozy images of playing little Blaine, thinking he can wrestle with Cooper, not realizing all along that his big brother can pin him down whenever he wants to. :) I was so disappointed that Kurt didn't come over, so Blaine could be cuddle sandwiched by both of them.
I get those images too and they are ADORABLE -- and well, keep your eyes peeled because there will eventually be a cuddle sandwich. Thanks for the review :)
and we are not calling him. At least, not unless you want to see us in a position similar to this." " WICKED!!! ;) i love cooper and blaine's bro-ship.
